Synovus Ballpark

Columbus, GA

Synovus Ballpark, formerly Golden Park, opened in 1926 in Columbus, GA and was a storied minor league ballpark that witnessed many famous players such as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, Ernie Banks, Hank Aaron, and Satchel Paige. The ballpark had a second renovation in 1994 in preparation to host women’s softball games during the 1996 Olympics. More improvements are now underway to blend historic elements with modern amenities. MiLB will return to Synovous Ballpark in 2025 as the home for the Columbus Clingstones, the Atlanta Braves AA team.

As a design anchor to the project, Canopy Team is assisting with plans to finalize key group seating areas, managing production of all signage, and procuring all ballpark FF&E items. In addition to the creative elements, Canopy Team is advising on the development of operational start-up strategies, standard operating procedures, and ballpark maintenance planning.
