Ben Weingarten joins Canopy Team after working as Ballpark Design Coordinator for the Worcester Red Sox, the AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, where he played an integral role in the design and construction of Polar Park, the club’s new home in Worcester, MA. Ben worked closely with Janet Marie Smith, Larry Lucchino, and the team of architects on conceptualizing the design for the new ballpark. He assisted with overall contractor and vendor management throughout the project, worked with team leadership and City officials to produce renderings and content for public release, and coordinated the design and installation of all ballpark signage.
As Project Coordinator at Canopy Team, Ben is responsible for managing the design and implementation of short and long-term improvement projects. He has worked with the Pittsburgh Pirates through three-years of enhancement projects at PNC Park, and helped lead Canopy Team’s improvement efforts at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea FC’s home in London. Ben’s strong skills in 3D modeling and design are often utilized to communicate design strategies to clients, consultants, and public stakeholders throughout various stages of projects.
A Chicago native, Ben spent countless afternoons at Wrigley Field, sparking a passion for ballpark design. This quickly led to the goal of visiting all 30 Major League ballparks, which he accomplished and wrapped up the journey in 2017. In his free time, he can often be found skiing or hiking through the mountains of Colorado, attending live music events, and creating artwork. He currently resides in Baltimore but will always be a Cubs fan.
