Canopy Team CEO Fran Weld joins the selected advisory panel for the City of Boston’s efforts to revitalize Faneuil Hall Marketplace as a dynamic, community-centered destination and spark for renewed energy in downtown Boston. Led by Mayor Michelle Wu and Chief of Planning for the City of Boston Kairos Shen, the effort brought together a small group of architects, developers, professors, and urbanists to rethink how the marketplace can better serve both residents and visitors.
During a two-day workshop at Faneuil Hall, the group explored the challenges facing downtown and how the marketplace can improve them, from driving foot traffic and commerce to creating a more welcoming and community-centered experience to keep visitors coming back. The workshop marked the beginning of a broader process, with the panel now developing recommendations that will help guide the City’s strategy and collaboration with ownership.
Through its involvement, Canopy is helping connect ideas, stakeholders, and long-term planning, supporting a path forward that honors Faneuil Hall’s legacy while positioning it as an active and evolving resource for the city.
