During his tenure at Streetsense and Williams Jackson Ewing, he played pivotal roles in shaping a combination of design, development and merchandising efforts for high profile mixed-use projects including The Wharf, Industry City, CityCenterDC, and Grand Central Terminal, blending the art of placemaking with the science of the real estate business. He approaches each assignment as a one‑of‑a‑kind opportunity and believes the common thread should be broad appeal that resonates with a wide range of people. He sees the same ethos applying to the sports industry and its role in placemaking.

As Managing Director at Canopy Team, Mike leads the firm’s placemaking and strategy for mixed use developments and retail districts. Combining his academic studies in design with his professional background in real estate development and retail merchandising and leasing, he blends creative vision with business acumen to deliver recognizable, market resonant places that generate maximum ROI for clients.

Mike graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of science degree in real estate development and is a lifelong urbanist and blends his passion for placemaking with the business of sport. Having grown up in Toronto playing hockey, he is a diehard Leafs fan and still makes Hockey Night in Canada his weekly Saturday appointment viewing.
