Serving as strategic advisors to the University Athletic Association and the University of Florida from 2021 – 2026, Canopy Team guided the program and design of renovations to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, aka “The Swamp,” the nearly century-year-old home of the University of Florida football team. Our team helped to define the vision and objectives for the reimagination of the 88,548-seat stadium. From leading revenue study efforts to onboarding project team consultants, Canopy Team directed design efforts for the renovation from concept through design development, ensuring that the goal of honoring and protecting the legacy of “The Swamp” remained at the forefront of all conversations.
In 2026, we completed pre-development work with the University and UAA team and are thrilled to see the project moving forward. The planned renovations will improve circulation, add infrastructure to the building to support a more robust concession program, enhance and increase premium offerings, address code-required changes in the seating bowl, and honor the history of “the Swamp.”
As one of the most iconic college football venues, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium will continue to preserve its legacy and intimate atmosphere while amplifying the experience for Gator fans, student-athletes, and the Gainesville community for generations to come.
